As a founding Principal of Bashir College of Dentistry, I am thrilled to introduce you to our vision of shaping the future of dentistry. Here we aim at academic excellence, clinical expertise and ethical practice for our future students. We believe in not just skilled practitioners but also humane individuals who are prepared to meet the needs of the society. We are dedicated to supporting our students’ personal and professional growth so that our students contribute positively to the development of our profession and society.

I feel privileged to be a part of the team to develop this new dental college under the umbrella of Bashir Institute of Health Sciences with its dedicated and worthy faculty. I have no doubt that under the leadership and support of our worthy CEO and Chairman, we would be able to achieve our goals and establish a Centre of Excellence in dental education.

What the doctor is able to do (KNOWLEDGE)

Integration of Medical Knowledge and skills : 

  • Must demonstrate integrated enactment of knowledge and clinical skills for provision of effective, safe, high quality and patient-centered care
  • Must make decisions about diagnostic and therapeutic interventions based on patient information and preferences, current scientific evidence and clinical judgment and implement patient management plans accordingly
  • Must perform medical and surgical procedures essential to the area of practice

Health promotion and disease prevention :

  • Must demonstrate combination of knowledge, skills, and values/attitudes to provide health care services and education aimed at disease prevention and health maintenance.
How the doctor approaches their practice? (SKILL) : 

Interpersonal and Communication skills

  • Demonstrate empathy and attention for effective information exchange with patients, patients’ families, physicians and other individuals within the health care system, verbally and in writing both.

Evidence Based Medicine

  • Use practice-based data analysis, medical literature, and other information resources for the purposes of “self” and “practice” improvement to prove beneficial for individual patient.
  • Apply core knowledge of established and evolving biomedical and clinical sciences in patient care in their area of practice.

  • Acknowledge their professional and personal limitations.
  • Uphold a high level of responsibility, sensitivity to a diverse patient population and adherence to legal and regulatory requirement concerning patient confidentiality.
  • Practice accountability by completing academic and patient care responsibilities in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of and responsiveness to the larger system of health care to provide patient care that balances quality and costs.
  • Identify and report disruptive or unprofessional behavior or distress in colleagues and self.
  • Identify the sociocultural, familial, psychological, economic, environmental and spiritual factors impacting health care and health care delivery.
  • Respond to above factors by planning and advocating the appropriate course of action at both the individual and the community level.
