Eye Clinic

History:

Eye Clinic in the Dr. Bashir General & Dental Teaching Hospital started in December 2021 to deliver effective eye care services in the community.

What is Optometry?

Optometry is a health care profession that is autonomous, educated, and regulated (licensed  /registered), and optometrists are the primary health care practitioners of the eye and visual system who provide comprehensive eye and vision care, which includes Refraction, Dispensing, Detection/ Diagnosis and Management of diseases in the eye, and the Rehabilitation of conditions of the visual system.

Objective

To deliver quality eye care at the doorstep of the community in rural and underserved populations. Dr. Bashir General & Dental Teaching Hospital runs one of the widest-spread outreach programs for the prevention of avoidable blindness in the community. The highlights of the program are as follows:
